Organizations are required to comply with data protection laws, namely the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), as possible non-compliance could greatly damage an organizations’ reputation, lead to court proceedings and cost significant amounts of money.

During your studies/work/scientific career you will likely have to collect or process personal data from other people. So, knowing how to effectively protect that data is extremely important.

As part of the i3S GDPR compliance strategy, we have implemented a training plan in 'Data Protection' that aims to inform i3S members on issues related to ‘Data Protection and the GDPR’ and ‘Information Security’.

Given the importance of GDPR compliance, it is strongly recommended that all i3S members do this Training, particularly those who work with personal data.

Cybersecurity Month

October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month, a global effort to help everyone stay safe and protected when using technology online. 

All month long we will be promoting key behaviors to encourage every i3S member to take control of their online lives. 

We will also have an online Cybersecurity Awareness Challenge to identify our top i3S Cybersecurity Champions!
